Some claim that imprecatory prayers represent a sinful desire for revenge, and we should not copy them in our hearts. But, we know there is a time for everything under the Sun, with the correct application. For example, we hear Jesus praying to punish a nation that condemned Him, but He also prayed, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." Now some would say there is a conflict between the two prayers. But, it's not; if we repent, we will be forgiven; if not, we will suffer His wrath.
When a person unknowingly harms us, it is one thing. But to intentionally bring harm or chaos to someone's life; because of our pride, envy, jealousy, or hate. This prayer is for you.Lord, let our enemies and undercover haters, disguised as friends; get caught in their own snares; and when they are at peace, let it become a trap. Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see the obstacles and make their loins tremble continually. Pour out Your indignation upon them, and let Your burning anger overtake them. May their camp be a desolation; let no one dwell in their tents. For they persecute him whom You have struck down, and they recount the pain of those You have wounded. Add to them punishment upon punishment; may they have no acquittal from You. Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; let them not be enrolled among the righteous. In Jesus name, Amen 🙏
