Father, keep us sober-minded; and watchful. Our devil adversary prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour...For all that is in the world, the desires of the flesh, lusts of the eyes, and pride in possessions are not from the You but from the world...Lord urges us as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against our souls...More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance and endurance produces character. Character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame because Your love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. So, we submit ourselves to You.
