IN OUR STORM

Even in the middle of the storm, when the wind is howling, lightning flashing, and waves crashing against us, in our hearts and minds, we are at peace because we know our Savior is a lifeguard. The storms of life test our faith, and sometimes the storms are so intense we may feel like we’re not going to make it, but Jesus is in the calming business, and when He brings us through our storms, it leads to a deeper faith.

Jesus is no stranger to storms “Mark 4:35-41 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along in the boat just as he was. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” 39 He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!”Then the wind died down, and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
.
Father, the storms of our lives sometimes seems like we will be washed away; help us trust that You are in complete control; and that we should place our faith in You when life winds blow fiercely.  Lord, help us understand that storms help build perseverance, so give us Your courage when we are weak and afraid; let us feel Your presence that provides us with the strength to stand on Your promise that You will never leave us. Father, You have done so many great things in our lives, and we are so grateful; forgive us for falling short of Your mercy, grace, and favor.  Lord, help us build a more vigorous prayer life, worship, and praise; help us honor You and love others the way You love and care for us.  Father, thank You for being the weatherman and not allowing us to face the storms of life alone.  Thank You for Your calming presence and transforming powers that help prepare us for whatever comes, in Jesus name, Amen
THE STORM IS OVER NOW
