COURAGE AND COMMITMENT TO KEEP OUR FLESH AT REST

For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose].

It takes courage and commitment to obey God, with all that's happening around us. Courage to give up what we want in order to do what God ask us to do; courage to do the things that may bring unwelcome results. Commitment to rearrange our lives to match His plan. Commitment to love the unlovable, to forgive the unforgivable, and to give up a lifestyle we want to keep. But, we can do it, if we commit to communicating with God daily, He will walk us through it, with protection and peace. This is the only way to accomplish this, because the flesh want what the flesh wants. And since we have been serving the flesh longer than we have been serving the Spirit. We need Christ strength and God's favor to overcome the flesh and keep it at rest.

Father, in our distress we call to You and You answered us, from deep in this realm of darkness we call for help, please hear our cry. Lord, help us cling to You, so remove every obstacle that hinders our blessings or keep us from sitting at Your feet. Lord, let us not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to You. Lord, search our hearts and remove the fleshly desires, that brings no honor to You.  Father, search the hearts of our government and remove the dark spirit of hate and replace it with the things of the Spirit. Lord, dismantle racism and help us work in unity and peace. Father, we come to You for these reasons and kneel before You. Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. We pray that out of Your glorious riches You will strengthen us with power through Your Spirit, in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. And we pray that we are rooted and established in love, and have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide, long, high, and deep is Your love. Lord, to know this love that surpasses knowledge that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of You, and to keep our flesh at rest, in Jesus name Amen
