GET TO KNOW GOD

Everybody will die; Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” (John 11:25). But to receive immortality when Jesus comes again, we must know HIM. (see 1 Corinthians 15:51-54). The Bible says that all those who have died—both righteous and wicked—will rise from the dead in one of two resurrections. The righteous will be raised to life at Jesus’ second coming. “ For the Lord, Himself will descend from heaven, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NKJV). According to this verse, the righteous do not go to heaven when they die. They remain asleep in the grave until Jesus returns and raises them to immortal life (see 1 Corinthians 15:50-57).  Get to know God through His Word; talk with Him daily through prayer, and honor Him through praise, worship, and our actions.

Father, there are so many family members and friends that were called home, we pray that they knew You Lord.  You are a wonderful Lord, full of grace and mercy.  We praise You for allowing us another day with our families and friends.  Father, You know the struggles that we will face today, so we ask that You guide us through them in Your will.  Father, we need Your strength when we are not strong and remove the obstacles that keep us from sitting at Your feet.  Lord, please remove anything that is hindering our blessings from You so that we may also bless those in need.  Lord, keep Your protecting and healing hands on us.  Father, You are worthy to be praised, and we will praise You throughout our lives, in Jesus name Amen
