When we tolerate day to day problems of life, we gain patience. When we think of how many time God has allowed us to make a mistake, we learn how to show kindness. When we deal with hate on a daily basis, we learn the power of forgiveness. When we have to deal with people that cannot take care of themselves, we learn gentleness. When we do not let our worldly desires prevail over our life needs, we learn self-control. When we stop trying to take control; over things that are out of our hands, we experience peace. When we learn how to love ourselves just as God created us, we find joy. When we start studying God’s Word daily; we gain wisdom and knowledge, which increases our faith. But, when we begin to feel God’s presence in our lives we know unconditional love.
Father, we come to You as humble as we know how, asking that Your restore Your love upon us. Civilians are being shot because of the color of their skin; innocent children are being sold as sex slaves, and our young people feel they have no reason to live. Oh Lord, you are our God; we earnestly search for You. Our souls thirst for You; our whole bodies longs for You in this parched and weary land where there is no love. We have seen You in Your sanctuary and witnessed Your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how we praise and worship You! Lord, we're asking You to help us restore peace; in a world filled with so much evil and hate. Lord, we come on bending knees with the faith of a mustard seed; asking You to help us develop into the people You designed us to be so that we can live in harmony. Lord, assist us in cultivating our souls with Your Word; so we can blossom into trees that bear spiritual fruit, and become Christ-like. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
