Matthew 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. 32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. 33 And when they come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. 35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. 36 And sitting down they watched him there; 37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
We can only imagine the power of love gathered on the hill of Golgotha; that redeemed us from our sins, through the crucifixion of Christ. God is all about love and if we are His followers; we too are all about love, for all people. He loves us even as sinners; even though we do not obey or honor Him, He stills love us. Any believer that does not show love to all people is a liar and is not part of God; because God is love, and there is no exception to this rule. So to all the people that harbor hate in their hearts; you are not a true believer, and you will perish.
Lord, let us not withhold kindness from anyone; but with every opportunity express love, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Father, You have commanded us to love one another as You love us; so give us Your love and courage so that we may obey this command. Lord, please make our love for each other increase and overflow; just as Christ love overflows for us. Father, help us to do right; seek justice for all, defend the oppressed, and plead the case of the widows. Lord, teach us not to do things for our selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather encourage one another and build each other us, just as You have done for us. Father, Your Son endured a horrible death so we could live; and for that we are so grateful, please forgive us for our disobedient. In Jesus name, Amen
