Romans 5:3-5 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
We must learn the art of suffering and receive the meaning of what it is to be a part of God’s family. We must honor His family by seeking deliverance from sin through salvation and faith in Christ. The Word encourages us to stand fast in the faith that a Holy life is not only possible, but it is the most desirable way to live. Knowing God does not mean we are exempted from suffering because Christ suffered for us and we must also suffer for Him in return. Suffering produces perseverance and perseverance produce Christ like character; besides God knows if we did not suffer we will never call on Him because when all is well in our lives He is forgotten.
Father, when suffering comes upon us to test our faith, give us Your courage and strength; so we can rejoice as we share in Christ suffering, so we can also share in His glory. Lord, let us not worry about the insults we receive in Christ name because His Spirit rest upon us. Lord, let us glorify You at all times, especially in times of suffering, because we know suffering produces endurance and endurance produce character, and character produces hope. Because after we have suffered a little while, You will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish us in Your Kingdom. Lord, we will count it all joy, when we meet trials of various kinds; because we know the test of our faith produces steadfastness, so we may be perfect and complete lacking in nothing, in Jesus name Amen
