DEACONS OF THE CHURCH

God has communicated through his Word; His instruction on how to walk in Spirit, and obey the Word of God.  1 Timothy 3:7-12 explains how a deacon should act; and what are the requirements of a Deacon, but do we listen.  He should be worthy of respect; not getting drunk, and pursuing dishonest gain.  Deacons should believe the complete truth and operate in it with a clear conscience.  A deacon should be faithful to his wife and be able to manage his children and his household well. Just as he would maintain the church in the Pastor absence; the Word says in 1 Timothy 3: “8 Likewise must the deacons be respected and have integrity, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9 Holding the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 11 Even so must their wives be respected, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.  12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. 14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: 15 But if I tarry long, that thou may know how thou ought to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar, and ground of the truth. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.  What if ever Deacon in the Church followed these instructions?

Father, Your, Word’s are straightforward and clear about how we should behave in a manner that honors You; and bring respect to ourselves. Give us a strong desire to study Your Word; and give us eyes that see and ears that hear, the truth of the Word.  More and more Lord, we are departing from the truth; if it is written in the New Covenant, we must abide by in it and it in us, or parish.  Lord, help us serve our purpose; and remain in Your grace, as we develop fruit and mature in the Word.  We do not know the time or the hour of Your return; so please keep us covered in the blood, and guided by the Holy Spirit.  Thank You for grace, salvation, and forgiveness; and a way to restore ourselves back to You.  Father, we must bear responsibility for our sins; and understand there is consequence we pay for our sins. Lord, there is so much sorrow, and pain, because of past iniquity that has been passed down to us.  Father, help us break the curse of sin to save the next generation, in Jesus name Amen
