PRACTICE WHAT WE PREACH

What we teach others we must be able to live ourselves, we teach that the path to peace is trusting God.  But, when we face difficult times we seem to forget what we taught.  When we can stand on God’s Word in times of adversity in peace, we can spread that peace to others because of peace rules in our lives.    We live in a world where peace is not easy to obtain, with day to day life struggles; hate and racism spiraling out of control, not to mention unfair housing and job opportunities.  Where do we find peace, in Christ?

Job 4: Your words have upheld him who was stumbling, And you have strengthened the feeble knees;5 But now it comes upon you, and you are weary; It touches you, and you are troubled. 6 Is not your reverence your confidence? And the integrity of your ways your hope? 7 “Remember now, who ever perished being innocent? Or where were the upright ever cut off?  8 Even as I have seen, Those who plow iniquity And sow trouble reap the same. 9 By the blast of God they perish, And by the breath of His anger, they are consumed. 10 The roaring of the lion, The voice of the fierce lion, And the teeth of the young lions are broken. 11 The old lion perishes for lack of prey, And the cubs of the lioness are scattered.

Father, give us Your strength and courage to practice what we preach so others will see You in us.  Lord, help us believe in what we teach so we can convince others to follow You.  Father, when we stumble and fall Your Word helps lift us up and it gives us the strength to continue carrying our cross.  Lord, give us Your courage so we will not be discouraged or dismayed, but let our confidence in Your promise keep us from wavering.  Father, the hate, and racism in America are spiraling out of control, please intervene so we do not kill each other; because of fear, envy, and strife.  Father, we pray for our Leaders: community, state, county, legislative, executive, and judicial branches; Father, give them Your love for the people and keep them on the path of righteousness.  Lord, let them not be self-serving or self-righteous, but humble, compassionate, and kindness.  Lord, thank You, for Your blessings and forgiveness, in Jesus name Amen
