CONTROL OUR LUSTFUL DESIRES

Lust is an inward sin which leads to a falling away from God.  This is why we are commanded to avoid sexual impurity in nearly every book of the New Testament and of the Old?  The devil always uses LUST, fornication, and adulteries to bring Spiritual men down. If we look back through biblical history, we can see how Samson and David were caught in the snares of lustful desires.  But that temporary moment of pleasure they experienced was not worth the dishonor they brought to God and themselves.  For lust is a shameful sin, a crime that should be punished. It is a devastating fire that destroys to hell.” —Job 31:11.  “Don’t let me lust for evil things; don’t let me participate in acts of wickedness. Don’t let me share in the delicacies of those who do evil.” —Psalm 141:4. “Don’t lust for her beauty. Don’t let her coyness seduce you. Can a man take fire into his lap and not get burned?” —Proverbs 6:25 & 27. “You are like a wild donkey, sniffing the wind at the mating time. Who can restrain your lust? Those who desire you do not even need to search, for you, come running to them!” —Jeremiah 2:24.  Sexual lust is a sin committed against the body, and this can bring on sickness and diseases that can kill us.  Sexual desire has destroyed churches and homes; believers need to work on restraint in this area.

Father, we are Your people, and we should have discipline, but most of us allow our lustfulness to take over our Spirit for that moment of pleasure.  Lord, give our young people Your strength to be sexually still, give them the stability that they may wait for the person You will for them to marry and bring forth life.  Father, we come to our Savior seeking help to battle sexual temptations for the old and young people of this world.  Cleanse our mind, body, and souls of all lustful desires and protect us from the evil one.  Lord, Your Word, says if we walk in the Spirit, we shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh, so help us walk in Spirit to avoid the snares of lust.  In Jesus name, we pray Amen
