DAVID WAS A ADULTERER AND MURDERER, BUT HE WAS A MAN OF GOD.

David was a man who used his power to attract a woman named Bathsheba while her husband was at war on King David's behalf. When she was found to be with his child, David arranged for her husband Uriah to be killed in battle to cover up the matter. David was an adulterer and a murderer. Is this a man after God's own heart?  Yes, God says that he is, "For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." (I Samuel 16:7) So despite his sin, God loved David's heart.

God does not see us like people do; He does not care about our appearance, our education or titles we give ourselves.  God sees us from the inside out, because that is who we are, not the beautiful clothes, shoes, cars, or house we have, it is our Christ-like character that impresses God.  So once David repented  AND TURNED AWAY from his sin, God forgave him and restored him.   But David sins did not go unpunished; God took David first child with Bathsheba.  Yes, He forgave him, but he still suffered the consequence of that sin through his son death.

Lord, thank You for not judging us as people do by appearance, but from what we hold in our hearts.  Thank You for forgiveness and understanding that we will fall short of Your grace, because of our flesh.  Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit; that gives us the strength to obey Your Word and the courage to stand on what is written.  Lord, continue to bless us indeed, broaden our territory and keep us from evil.  Lord, examine our hearts and remove anything that hinders our blessings from You and keeps us from sitting at Your feet.  Thank You, for the hedge of protection around our families, friends, and ourselves.  Father, replace our will with Yours and remove all interference so we may hear You, so You can use us as a vessel to touch others. In Jesus wonderful name Amen
