SALVATION IS A GIFT TO CHRISTIANS AND NONCHRISTIAN

God does not owe us salvation, and we cannot earn salvation, it is a gift.   Also believing and being baptized do not guarantee salvation it only makes it possible.    The seed of right and wrong was planted in us before we were born and we should obey God whether it brings us rewards or not.  Since God is infinitely just, non-Christians who obey Him through their natural sense of right and wrong will not be condemned to everlasting punishment, but neither will they by the fact of merely existing be entitled to participate in the nature of God.  Belief and baptism will bring that entitlement to Christians.

Eternal salvation is open to those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and His Church but seek God with a sincere heart, and under the inspiration of their conscience.  Nor does divine Providence deny the aids necessary for salvation to those who, without blame on their part, have not yet reached an explicit belief in God, but strive to lead a good life, under the influence of God’s grace.  Do not misunderstand from a single text that heaven is closed to any person, since Christ died to save all people.  Those who will be CONDEMNED are those who were given the grace to believe but refused it.

We have all done thought or said bad things, which the Bible calls “sin.” The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God (Romans 6:23).

Father, we understand that there are people that do not know  Your Son through no fault of their own, but You still give them grace.  Lord, we know we cannot earn salvation, but SINNERS are saved through Your grace when we have faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ.  Father, we are sinners, and we fall short of Your grace and mercy and ask for forgiveness.  Lord, we believe Christ died to save us from sin if we repent and turn away from our sins.  Lord, teach us that what matters to You is the attitude of our hearts, our honesty, and the way we treat others.  So, Lord we trust and follow You as our Lord and Savior.  Guide our lives and help us to do your will in Jesus name Amen
