SOME PEOPLE ARE FOR A LESSON, A BLESSING, OR LIFETIME

Some people are in our lives for a lesson, some for a blessing, and some for life.  We have to be able to determine what purpose the people in our lives serve, because if we get it wrong, we will have no peace or joy.  We can learn what purpose people serve in our lives through prayer and discernment (perception in the absence of judgment to (or “intending to”) obtaining spiritual direction and understanding.)  When someone is in our lives for a lesson, it is usually to teach or show us something.  So they are in our life to assist us through a difficult time or we learn how to handle it through their actions, or maybe it is for guidance or support, could be physical, emotionally, or spiritually.  But whatever the reason it should make us better, smarter, or wiser.   Now the problem comes when we decided to keep that person around after the lesson has been taught.  God will show us the reason this person is not for us, but if we ignore Him and follow our will, we will not be happy. Then what happens is without any wrongdoing on our part the relationship or friendship will come to an end. Some people come into our lives as a blessing, because our turn has come to share, growth or learning. They bring us an experience of peace and laughter. They may show us something we have never seen or done before. They usually give us an unbelievable amount of joy. But once the prayer we sent up has been answered, it is time for them to move on. Then you have that person that comes to us for a lifetime; it could be a friend or relationship.  This person has been put into our lives because we are evenly yoked so that we can have a solid emotional foundation.  This individual will have a need of us, and we will have a need for them.  Our job is to accept and love this person without judgment, and once we have done these things our lives will be at peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:6-8 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend,  a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Father in Heaven, we know we add fuel to the fire in our relationships because we carry luggage from one relationship to another. Lord, we want that perfect person, but we are not perfect, something we don't like to admit it, but we know it’s true. Thank You, that You see who we are, and  You still love us. Father teach us to do the same with others, please help us to see ourselves honestly, and to own our part in conflict before we point our finger. Please give us insight into our needs and give us patience as we encounter requirements in the one we love. We need Your help, Lord, please guide us to that lifetime person, and provide us with the insight of those that are in our lives for a lesson or a blessing we pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
