We need to stop thinking so highly of ourselves; because it is not about us, it’s about Jesus and how we treat others. The two greatest commandments are to: love the Lord our God with all our hearts and minds, and love our neighbor as we do ourselves. This is what we will be judged on, these two commandments. We show our love for the Lord through our obedience and how we treat others; the Word tells us 1 John 4:20-21 “if we say, I love God and hate our brothers and sisters of any color, we are liars; for if we do not love our brothers and sisters whom we have seen, we cannot love God whom we have not seen. Whoever loves God must also love all people. And remember we cannot judge a person by the way they dress or their material possessions: James2:1-3 people show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into our assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, do not pay more attention to one than we do the other; treat them the same. Because, if we treat the person with gold and fine clothing better than we treat the person with the shabby clothing; we have made distinctions among ourselves, and become a judge with evil thoughts. Because God has chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom, which He has promised to those who love Him.
Father, thank You, for blessing us today; teach us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as You forgave us. Lord, let no corrupt talk come out of our mouths; but good for building up Your Kingdom and lifting up all people. Lord, open the hearts and minds of Your people; so the Word may give grace, wisdom, and understanding to those who hear. Lord, let us not grieve the Holy Spirit of God; but offer our bodies as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to God, by whom we were sealed for the day of redemption. Father, let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, slander, and malice be put away from us, and let us not think more highly of ourselves. Father, teach us to love You more than we do ourselves; and do unto others as You have done for us. Lord, give us hope, so we may be filled with joy and peace as we trust in You, and forgive us for our sins. In Jesus name, Amen
