Fornication

To fornicate is to take one of God's greatest gifts, which brings new life, and use it as an outhouse. Of all the sins, Fornication is the most pernicious (destructive) because misusing intercourse affects our whole being. It has gotten to the point where many adults and even children cannot express themselves in healthy ways through communication without falling into patterns of distorted sexuality. We see this daily in our media and hear it described in the intense frustrations of modern music, clothing, and literature. People have more sex and less satisfaction because the "thrill is gone" from their relationships. Not to mention the diseases that plague our lives from having unprotected intercourse, that fact alone should be enough to keep us sexually still. I know this is not a subject people like to discuss, but it's necessary. We do not want to pass to our children that casual sex is ok; we should be teaching them to get to know a person's heart before we get into their beds. The heart connection will last forever; that is why God connected us with Him through the heart, not the body. BUT IF YOU HAVE NO SELF-CONTROL, PLEASE USE A CONDOM

Lord, help us flee Fornication; teach us that all sins other than Fornication are done without the body, but those that commit fornication sin against their bodies. Father helps us understand that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit in us.   Lord, our bodies were brought with the sacrifice of Christ's death, and we are not our own, so we must respect and glorify what belongs to You. Father, let every man have his wife and every woman have her husband. Lord, help us understand that because our society encourages Fornication, You see it as a destructive sin. Lord, even Christians commit Fornication, as many couples live together and have sex before marriage. Father, You said we must flee this sin and abstain from all appearance of evil. Father, help us sanctify our spirits, souls, and bodies and be preserved blameless until we are united in marriage, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
