Matthew 25:39 When did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?’ 40 And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’ 41 Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.…
The “least of these” refers to those in a needy situation. The least of these are the hungry, thirsty, impoverished, sick, our seniors, orphans, imprisoned and the poor in Spirit. The needy are called Christ’s “brothers”; and those that are blessed, are expected to bless them. Jesus said, "those who cared for such individuals were not merely serving other people. They were serving Him."
Father, You have blessed us so we can bless others; Father, help us understand "too much is given, much is required. Lord, give us a desire to help the least of us, fill us with compassion, love, kindness, and faith; so the people will see You through us. Lord, we abide in the Word, prayer, and praise; teach us to implement Your wisdom, knowledge, and power in our lives. Father, there's an army of unbelievers raising up, because we have failed to teach them Your Word; so please forgive us and do not reject them. Lord, give us Your courage, strength, and wisdom to witness of Your goodness, Lord, we petition You for the homeless, the orphans and children sold as sex slaves; Lord, we pray for our seniors who are all alone, for those who have been falsely accused and incarcerated, and we pray for the poor in Spirit. Father, open our hearts and minds to the Truth of Your Word, let us hold on to what is good; so we will be transformed into holy people that care for and help each other. Father, let our actions, not our words, reveal who You are in us, in the name of Jesus, Amen
