The first time Jesus came to earth, He came to deliver us from sin; by sacrificing Himself to save us, so we may live for Him. Jesus promise that He will give all those who overcome the trials of their faith and follow Him, the right to rule with Him. Jesus was the atonement that restored our relationship of harmony and unity with God, through God’s grace and forgiveness in spite of our sins.
.John 5:25-29 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself and has given Him authority to execute judgment also because He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth -- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation
Once the gospel is preached to all nations, then the second coming will be near. There will be wars, famines, earthquakes, false prophets, persecutions, and an increase in wickedness. The final result of the Second Coming will be the fulfillment of all the promises of the kingdom of God. Satan will be destroyed with all his followers, and the righteous who are granted eternal life will receive new spiritual bodies that are in some ways similar to the old earthly body and in some ways different.
Father, prepare us for Your second coming, give us discernment for and separation from evil. Lord, let our actions be according to and in line with Your will. Father, we acknowledge that Jesus Christ is our Savior; that He came to earth as a man in order to live the sinless life that we cannot live; that He died in our place so that we would not have to pay the penalty we deserve. Lord, we confess our past life of sin and living for ourselves and not obeying Your commands. Lord, we trust You and ask You to come into our hearts, and take up residence; so You can work in and through us. In Jesus name Amen
