Christ-like character comes from within; it's not about what we look like outside that defines us or what title we hold in society. It is about how much Christ-like character we have inside us; that explains us. What defines Christ-like character: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; this is what defines our character. We can say much more about this, but it's hard to explain, especially when we are spiritually weak or dead. Our Spirits are low because ("we have eyes but we fail to see, and ears but fail to hear" Mark 8:17-18) we have little faith. If we study God's Word daily, pray, worship, praise, and be patient, "our character will change." We will start to develop Fruit, and our Spirits will grow more robust and help lay our flesh to rest. But, we must nourish our Spirits with the Word; to keep our Spirits active so we do not become spiritually dead. Ephesians 4:18). When we have Christ-like character, we will not indulge in our worldly appetites because we will have self-control and His power over our flesh.
Father, help us develop Christ-like character; so we can be the people You created us to be, disciples of Christ. Lord, give us eyes that see and ears that hear, as You strengthen our faith and help us with our unbelief's through Your great love. Father, prune our Spirit of patience; so we will not walk ahead of You and out of Your protection. Lord, keep us from being hard-hearted people; so we will not walk in darkness but in the light of Your grace. Father, keep us at peace and continue to bless us indeed and broaden our territory. Lord, remove all the obstacles that hinder our blessings and keep us from sitting at Your feet. Finally, Father, help us forgive those who wronged us; as You forgive us, Amen in Jesus' name.
