THE ONLY SIN AGAINST THE BODY

Whenever we think of what Christ paid to purchase our lives; it should motivate us to be faithful, and worth of the price He paid.  What makes us believe that we can be believers and still be immoral as we please? Especially Sexual immorality, this is the only sin against the body, the place where God’s Spirit dwells.  (1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”) Everything is not permissible for us; we do not own our bodies Christ does, so when we surrender to Him, He will control all strongholds over what is His. (1 Corinthians 6:13-14 “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will destroy them both.” The body is not meant for sexual immorality but the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 By his power, God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.) We must obey God’s Word we cannot walk in death and Spirit; if we are doing what the Word says not to do, we are still dead.  (1 Corinthians 6:15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in the body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.)  God will cleanse us when we ask for forgiveness, repent and turn away from our sins.  We are fooling ourselves if we receive Christ and remain as we are; Christ died to give us the opportunity to choose Him and live, or sin and die.

Lord, search our souls and remove everything that is not of You.  Father, take away the sins that separate us from You, and those that hinders our blessings.  Lord, give us humility so we may stay humble and on Your path to rightness.  Lord, we want to live a life worthy of You; so please keep us humble, and in Your will.  Father, teach us how to live the life You have instructed us too; and not of the flesh, which craves sin.  Lord, we do not love You if we live as we please; in the flesh instead of the Spirit.  Lord, we understand that Your wish is for us to enjoy You in freedom; but when our freedom dishonor You, we are in bondage and sin.  So, right now Lord, we ask that You break every chain over our lives; so we can be restored to You, and live in a way that brings honor to You.  Lord, thank You for sending Your Son born under the law; to redeem us from the Law and receive the rights as Your children, through receiving Him as our Savior.  In Jesus name Amen.
