WE MUST OBEY OUR GOD GIVEN ASSIGNMENTS TO HAVE PEACE

As believers, we must strive to choose leaders who will be led by our Creator and not by man. Americans have made such an idol of people’s skin color, which electing people for the color of their skin rather than the content of their character is the norm. Never mind the racism that is based on the lie that we are separate races rather than accepting the truth that we are one human race. (Acts 17:26, from one man He created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and He determined our boundaries. "Of one blood God created all people..." YES! One race.) History tells us, in the 20th-century civil rights movement, where our grandparents and great grandparents (black and white) marched and died for equality and the right to vote. So yes, we should honor the privilege and responsibility of taking part in our electoral process. Especially when we consider that in Biblical times the Jews were under Roman rule and, they were not Roman citizens. Therefore, they were not permitted to vote. In fact, most Roman citizens could not vote. Only the very wealthy were allowed to vote. So everyone that has a right to vote should vote; to put people in office with godly principles, believers must participate in the election process.

Romans 13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for any reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respects; if honor, then honor.  Believers must help in the election process to insure people with Godly character are placed in office, or we will all suffer.

Lord, please give those that have their right to vote; the desire to do what is right; and vote for leaders that promote Your principles.  Father, we understand that You are certainly in control; but all believers should do their part to elect leaders to further Your will.  Lord, we are commanded to pray for our leaders; even though we are displeased with our choice of leadership.  Lord, much of our suffering and sin’s grip on this world is due to godless leadership.  Father, we are instructed by Your Word to obey authority; unless it contradicts with Your commands. Lord, any candidate that violates the Bible’s commands for life, family, marriage, or faith should not be supported.  Lord, let us stop complaining and start voting and speaking us for You; then allow You to do the rest, in Jesus name, we pray Amen
