THE LORD'S PRAYER

Matthew 6:5-9
5“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Surely, I say to you; they have their reward. 6But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you openly. 7And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.  8“ Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you need. 9 This is how we should pray:

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.  Thy Kingdom come.  Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our sins, As we forgive them that sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the Glory, Forever and ever.
Amen.

This prayer covers everything, even what may happen throughout our day.  The Word tells us to pray without ceasing, (1 Thessalonians 5:17 - Pray without ceasing) and when we pray in His Words, it makes our prayers compelling through the Holy Spirit.   First, ask God to (Psalms’ 51:2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!) This is the first thing we should pray for, ourselves. We need to come to our father with a clean heart.  No anger, hate, jealousy, or malice in our hearts, and God will hear our prayer.  We cannot ask God to forgive us if we are holding on to unforgiveness.  (Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.) There are prayers throughout the Bible; the book of Psalms is a collection of prayers, songs, and poems.  Pray for the wisdom and knowledge OF His Word and everything else will fall into place.  When we have love, wisdom and knowledge we cannot go wrong.
